I recently worked with a client in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, helping their Pomeranian who had developed multiple bite incidents when people approached too closely while he was resting. The dog was displaying clear signs of territorial aggression and resource guarding of his space—common but serious behaviors if left unaddressed.
Using a balanced training approach that combined structure, clear communication, rewards, and fair corrections, we were able to significantly improve his behavior. Despite his age, this dog learned to relax and feel secure without the need to guard his space.
This is a great example of how the right training can safely and effectively turn around aggressive behavior in dogs.
